Stability
A well-maintained, substance-free residence offers a steadier setting for everyday routines.
About Citronia Recovery
Citronia was founded by Zack Zulkiewicz and his stepfather, Bill S., after their family experienced addiction, recovery, and the work of rebuilding everyday life from two closely connected perspectives.
The story
Zack moved from Connecticut to Los Angeles in 2015, became active in the local sober community, and worked at a rehabilitation center. His own recovery experience drew him toward creating a stable home for people continuing that work.
Bill supported Zack as a family member and brought an operational and financial perspective as a CPA. Together, they founded Citronia in 2017. Zack now serves as Founder and Operations Manager, while Bill serves as Founder and Chief Financial Officer.
Meet the people behind CitroniaWhat guides the home
Citronia focuses on the ordinary conditions that can help people continue their own recovery work without making promises about anyone’s outcome.
A well-maintained, substance-free residence offers a steadier setting for everyday routines.
Clear expectations and respect for the home keep residents active in their own choices and daily lives.
Shared living can offer respectful human contact while residents participate in life beyond the home.
Citronia’s role
Citronia is a sober living home, not a medical or clinical treatment facility. The distinction is straightforward:
Substance-free housing, a shared-home environment, practical structure, and clear expectations for daily life.
Clinical assessment and treatment, admission decisions, and their own insurance and cost arrangements.
When additional care is needed, Citronia works closely with trusted independent local detoxification, residential treatment, and outpatient facilities. The team can provide contacts and help coordinate introductions or transitions, while each facility remains responsible for its own services and decisions.
